Women’s Golf WA is the State Sporting Association for Women’s Golf in Western Australia.

Our membership of over 7,500 members within 223 clubs covers the entire State.

As well as administering all aspects of the sport; this organisation co-ordinates over twenty Tournaments annually.

Rule 18-2a/19 Ball Moved Accidentally by Practice Swing Prior to Tee Shot

Q:
Before playing from the teeing ground, a player took a practice swing, in the course of which he accidentally struck and moved the teed ball with his club.
Did the player play a stroke or incur a penalty?
A: The player did not make a stroke – see Definition of “Stroke”. Since the ball was not in play – see Definition of “Ball in Play” – he incurred no penalty under Rule 18-2a. The player must put a ball into play from the teeing ground.

ONLINE COURSE FOR OFFICIALS LAUNCHED
The Australian Sports Commission’s new online Introductory Level Officiating General Principles.The course is aimed at beginner level officials, and takes approximately four hours to complete. There is assessment included within the course. The online course is available free of charge to Australian officials.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN LEGISTLATION - In 2007 it became a legal requirement by all paid and volunteer personnel who are involved with children under the age of 12 years to get a WWC card.
